One dead, six missing in Airbus crash in France
An Air New Zealand Airbus A320 aircraft on a test flight crashed into the sea off France's southwest coast Thursday, killing at least one person with a further six still missing, authorities said.

40 years ago today, on January 5, 1969, an Ariana Afghan Airlines Boeing 727-113C crashed while attempting to land at London's Gatwick Airport in poor weather conditions. 50 of the 65 passengers and crew aboard were killed.
